Message from Director
Health status of Nepalese citizens has improved over the years, albeit inequitably. Disparities in health status continue across wealth quintile, region, caste, ethnicity, and urban settings. The inverse phenomenon of growing dissatisfaction but rising expectations regarding health care services among the citizens is paramount and this has to be penetrated in a reliable way. Everyone expects for themselves and their families access to quality health care services and communities where health is protected and promoted. Likewise everyone expects for their society an equitable health care and health authorities that are accountable and can be relied upon. The growing mismatch between expectations of the citizens and actual performance of the health systems is leading to a crisis in confidence. I am committed that PHC-RD will leave no stone unturned to provide free basic health services to all citizens and ensure there is reliable and easy access of health services to urban poor, vulnerable and marginalized, and for people with disability.
Being a firm believer in using modern technologies, I have always been keen to adopt new technologies to systematize program processes and ensure enhanced/improved implementation of programs. Development of website of PHC-RD is just a stepping stone to unearth new avenues of information concerns of stakeholders and different actors. This website will try to bridge information gap between different actors in regard to the activities of our organization. I welcome you all to provide invaluable feedback and suggestions to make this website beneficial to everyone concerned.
